XRP price eyes 30% upside after key resistance area breaks

Image
More gains for XRP price appear likely due to a classic bullish continuation pattern alongside strong whale accumulation. XRP (XRP) has risen by an impressive 60% in the first quarter of 2023, helped by rising speculation over Ripple’s potential legal win versus the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and broader bullish sentiment in the cryptocurrency market. The XRP/USD pair now eyes more gains in the second quarter, primarily due to a classic bullish continuation pattern. XRP price paints bull pennant In late March, XRP broke above its multimonth ascending trendline resistance, averting a potential 35% correction. The rebound reached $0.58 on March 29, its highest level since May 2022. Now, XRP has been consolidating sideways in what appears to be a bull pennant. This bullish continuation pattern forms when the price consolidates inside a symmetrical triangle after undergoing a strong rally. A bull pennant resolves after the price breaks above its upper trendline while accompa...

‘XRP is not a security. Period’ — Crypto lawyers on Ripple’s case amid SEC appeal

Image
Lawyer Oscar Franklin Tan believes that if the appeal is allowed, whoever wins will build momentum in the main case. As the United States Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) seeks an interlocutory appeal in its case against Ripple Labs, lawyer s working in the crypto space expressed confidence in Ripple’s case, with some underscoring that the XRP (XRP) token is not a security .  On Aug. 9, the SEC sent a letter to Judge Analisa Torres stating that it was moving to appeal the court decision, which it says warrants a fresh look by an appellate court. The SEC asked the judge to put the case on hold while the appeal is in progress. The SEC’s move to appeal sparked questions among community members, with some thinking that the SEC’s move to appeal is a move to challenge the “non-security” status of XRP. However, crypto lawyers assured the community that this is not the case. According to crypto lawyer Jeremy Hogan, the two issues are separate. Hogan explained that if the SEC wins the...

Top US Lawyer Mocks Max Kesier As XRP Receives Clarity

US attorney Bill Morgan mocks the principal XRP critic Max Keiser following the court’s verdict that XRP is inherently not a security.  Bitcoin (BTC) maximalist Max Keiser remains a well-known critic of XRP, the native token of the XRP Ledger (XRPL). In a recent outcome, a renowned lawyer in the XRP community Bill Morgan took a dig at Keiser over an XRP description he shared in the past week, citing Ripple’s victory against the SEC.  Morgan noted on Tuesday that XRP is the only altcoin to gain regulatory clarity in the United States, as he sneered at Kesier for dubbing the asset “a dead coin walking” on July 10. He added that Bitcoin is no longer the only crypto asset with regulatory clarity. This hasn’t aged well over the last 5 weeks. Not only is XRP not a dead coin walking but a judge found that the XRP token itself is not a security. Bitcoin no longer has a monopoly on clarity. Oh no! https://t.co/5QBRS2AYlM — bill morgan (@Belisarius2020) July 18, 2023 Ci...

Ripple case more crucial than ever amid Coinbase, Binance SEC crackdown: Lawyers

Whether XRP is ruled as a security or not in the Ripple case will certainly have an influence on the two latest crypto exchange lawsuits, crypto lawyers told Cointelegraph. The judges presiding over Coinbase and Binance’s lawsuits will likely watch the results of the SEC v Ripple case closely, crypto lawyers told Cointelegraph. Ripple has been in a legal battle with the SEC since December 2020. The regulator alleges it was offering unregistered securities via XRP (XRP) since 2013. On June 6 the SEC filed a lawsuit against Coinbase also alleging that it has been offering unregistered securities. A day before it filed a lawsuit against Binance containing some similar allegations. Lawyer James Murphy, known as “MetaLawMan” on Twitter, explained in a series of tweets on June 9 that a favorable outcome for Ripple could “undermine the entire basis for the SEC’s case” against both, Coinbase, and Binance. 1/ The stakes just keep getting higher for the ruling in SEC v. @Ripple. Here's why....

This is all the more important in the current regulatory environment as crypto increasingly looks to become an election year issue ahead of the US presidential election 2024.
